Royal Yachting Association (RYA) accredited courses
Powerboating
RYA Level 1:
This 1 day course provides a practical introduction to boat handling skills.
No prior skills required to attend.
RYA Level 2 Inland:
This 2 day course provides the skills and background knowledge needed by the competent powerboat driver, and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence. No prior qualifications required.
RYA Level 2 Coastal:
This 2 day course provides a progression from the Level 2 Inland course introducing pilotage, navigation and boat handling techniques for planning coastal water trips.
Pre requisit - Level 2 Inland.
Dinghy Sailing - Adult
- RYA Level 1 - Start Sailing (2 day course)
- RYA Level 2 - Basic Skills (2 day course)
These 2 day courses provide practical introduction to singlehanded dinghies. Each course is led by a qualified RYA instructor. Dinghy Sailing - Youth Scheme
- RYA Start Sailing Stage 1
- RYA Start Sailing Stage 2
- RYA Start Sailing Stage 3
- RYA Start Sailing Stage 4
Each stage is completed over a 2 day course.
The RYA youth sailing scheme provides an enjoyable and progressive way to learn to sail. upon successful completion of each stage a certificate is awarded, recognising your achievement and progress through the
scheme.
British Canoe Union (BCU) Approved
- BCU One Star - 2 day course
- BCU Two Star - 2 day course
- BCU Three Star - 2 day course
- Introduction to White Water - 1 day course
These courses offer, inland water skills weekends for paddlers from a total novice to a competent inland water paddler.
